Who are you becoming when no one’s watching?
Reflection: You are not your past patterns. You are not other people’s memories of you. You’re allowed to become a new version of yourself.
Thoughts:
So much of who we present to the world is curated and softened. We’ve learned to edit ourselves in real time. Adjusting our energy, our opinions, our presence based on who’s in the room with us. We’ve become experts at being palatable, fitting into the shape others expect us to fit into.
But who are we when no one is watching?
Who are we when we’re not performing competently, likable, or calm? When you are not managing someone else’s emotional experience. Who is the unedited, unperformed, fully allowed you?
Inner validation grows when you respect who you are off-stage, when no one is watching. When you stop treating your private self as a rough draft that needs to be polished before it is acceptable. When you recognize that the parts of you that never show up around certain people aren’t flaws, but aspects of yourself that need safer spaces to exist.
